| Equipment Type | Braking & Wheels | Built-in Seating | Weight Capacity | Best Use Case |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4-Wheel Rollator | Loop-lock hand brakes; 6"–8" indoor/outdoor wheels | Padded seat + backrest for resting during walks | 300 – 400 lbs | Outdoor mobility, neighborhood walks, shopping, endurance support |
| Standard 2-Wheel Folding Walker | Front wheels with rear glide skis/caps | No seat (frame folds compactly via push button) | 300 – 350 lbs | Initial post-surgery rehab (hip/knee), non-weight bearing, severe instability |
| Bariatric Heavy-Duty Rollator | Reinforced steel/aluminum frame with heavy-duty brakes | Extra-wide padded seat (20"+ width) | 450 – 500 lbs | Bariatric patients needing wider seating and high-capacity stability |
If you have significant balance issues or are strictly instructed by a surgeon not to bear full weight, a standard 2-wheel walker offers maximum stability because it will not roll away from you. If you have moderate stability, need a seat to rest when fatigued, and want smoother movement outdoors, a 4-wheel rollator is ideal.
Yes! The Ontario government covers 75% of the approved cost of a custom-prescribed rollator for eligible residents with a physical disability or long-term mobility impairment. As an authorized ADP vendor, we work directly with your authorizer (physiotherapist or occupational therapist) to submit the claim.
Yes, all our rollators fold flat in one simple motion (either cross-folding side-to-side or pull-up center strap) and weigh between 14 to 19 lbs, making them easy to lift into trunks or backseats.
Visit our Courtice showroom at 1423 King St E, Unit 5 to test rollators in person and get professionally sized, or call us directly.
